Kathryn Regier was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area where her artistic passion began at an early age. Her desire to attend art school in Berkeley was put aside when she was accepted to Samuel Merritt Hospital School of Nursing in the 1970’s. As a Registered Nurse she used her artistic skills to create visual aids for classes she taught to fellow RN’s on cardiac arrhythmias.
After retiring from nursing and moving to Hawaii she brought her talents to photography. Utilizing the skills she learned in the darkroom at Berkeley, photography workshops and private education, she became a highly respected and sought after wedding photographer on the island of Maui.
Kathryn brings her 15 years of studying light and composition as a wedding photographer to her new artistic expression of watercolor painting. Her studio is in her home on Maui where she has lived with her husband since 1985.
